What are the reasons for the increase in the incidence of breast cancer in recent years?<\/p>

One of the most important factors is obesity. In the last 10-15 years, the rate of obesity has increased a lot, especially in women. It increased by around 30 percent in total. Currently, 30 percent of women in Turkey are obese. In addition, environmental factors, urban living conditions and the ability to be diagnosed more often are other factors that increase the incidence of breast cancer. However, it should be noted that while early diagnosis is increasing, the number of women with breast cancer seems to be increasing accordingly. However, life losses are decreasing due to more early cancers caught. In addition, having cancer in relatives at an early age increases the risk of genetic transmission. Namely, the risk of a person with first-degree relatives with breast cancer increases one and a half times. The risk also increases as the number of cancer patients increases. There are also genetic cancer families. In this condition called Linch syndrome, large intestine, ovarian cancers and breast cancer can be seen together. The possibility of breast cancer is very high in these families. If more than two people in a family have breast cancer, genetic tests should be performed. If the test result is positive, the risk of breast cancer increases and the probability rises above 70 percent. Preventive drug treatments and mastectomy can even be performed in those with a positive genetic test.<\/p>

It may be overlooked during pregnancy, but breast cancer can also occur during this period. In pregnancy, especially the physicians who perform follow-ups should be very careful about this issue. For early diagnosis, it is important for women to regularly examine themselves. In this examination, women first recognize their own breasts, and then they can easily recognize the changes that occur.<\/p>

At what stage does breast cancer occur in a person with these symptoms?<\/p>

Early diagnosis of breast cancer is either through breast self-examination or during routine check-ups. Women should go for breast examinations once a year after the age of 40. Those with a family history of breast cancer should have these examinations at an earlier age. During the check-up, the physician examines the breasts and armpits. They are then checked with ultrasound. After the age of 45, mammography should be performed. Mammography is a very important diagnostic method for catching breast cancer early.<\/p>
